The Ski School at the Ridge has been operating for over 50 years. We offer ski and snowboard lessons for kids and adults alike, and we are happy to help you find the best lesson program for you or your family. All ages and abilities are welcome.
Saturdays, Sundays & holidays · January–March · lessons at 11 AM and 1 PM
Book by email at skischool@hurricaneridge.com. There are no rentals on the mountain; rent in Port Angeles or Bremerton. Pack food and water for the day. Tire chains are required in every vehicle. Private drop-in lessons at 1 PM, space permitting. Lessons run January through March.

Rentals
Rent in town, not on the mountain
This year, rentals are only available at North by Northwest in Port Angeles and Kitsap Sports in Bremerton. Plan ahead if you need gear.

Before you head up the mountain, make sure you have all of the proper gear:

Pack lunch and water
There are no options to purchase food once on the Ridge. Remember to pack food and water for the day.
Booking
Refunds need 48 hours
A full refund is only available if your cancellation request is received 48 hours before the scheduled lesson. All lessons are subject to instructor availability.
Scheduling lessons.
Ski School operates Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, January–March. Every lesson is reserved by email with the Ski School Director.

Write to skischool@hurricaneridge.com to reserve a date and time for your lesson.
- Include the names and ages of all students taking the lesson.
- Include each student’s ski or snowboard ability.
Purchase your lesson
After the Ski School Director confirms your date and time, buy the lesson online. All lessons are subject to instructor availability.
- Full refund only if you cancel 48 hours or more before the lesson.

Private drop-in lessons are available at 1 PM without a reservation, based on instructor availability that day.

Lessons happen inside a national park.
The ski school operates within Olympic National Park. Two rules catch visitors off guard.
Required by the park
Chains in the car, fee at the gate
- Carry tire chains in your car; they are required by the park for all vehicles, no exceptions for 4WD and AWD.
- Be prepared to pay the national park entrance fee on the drive up.
Weather plan
If the road closes, reschedule
If the park does not open the Hurricane Ridge Road because of the weather, you have the option to reschedule your lesson for a later date.

3-week group lessons
Progress, week over week
Hurricane Ridge’s multi-week programs are a great way to make progress in your skiing or snowboarding. Groups are arranged by sport type, age and ability level.

Private lessons
Your perfect day, one-on-one
Learn to improve your skiing and snowboarding in a one-on-one setting, or bring a group of family and friends, while enjoying the beauty of Hurricane Ridge and the Olympic National Park.
