Parking is limited at the summit and so getting to the Heart o’ Hills Park Entrance Station prior to the road opening should ensure you a space. The gate typically opens at 9:00 am (call the Olympic National Park Road Report 360-565-3131 [activate]) and the queue can start to form as early as 7:30 if it’s a powder day.
Olympic National Park requires that all vehicles carry tire chains. Sometimes the Ranger will ask to see them.
